My current body of work is focused on the everyday in art. How our surroundings, the subtle patterns in our lives contribute to our daily, monthly, and yearly journey. The coffee stain on the counter becomes the start of an exploration of place and understanding in the world through layers of tracing, accidents of chance and incorporation of everyday occurrences. In my graduate program I explored LGBT lives through their meetings. Large canvases of acrylic paintings that chronicled the phenomenological and personal lives and experiences of how the LGBT community meets as couples, as friends, and the events that bring them together.
